Business Advice Open Days
The Business Advice Open Day programme is organised by the Business Liaison Team, part of HM Revenue and Customs, based in Birmingham.
The events started ten years ago from a small local seminar in the West Midlands. Responding to requests from the business community for advice and information to be more accessible, the Days were created to provide support at times and locations that were more convenient for businesses. The success of the first Open Day was demonstrated by the enthusiastic response of visitors who asked for more events and suggested the inclusion of other regulatory bodies.
Today we organise around 16 events a year throughout the UK. We offer a range of advice formats from small, local mobile advice stops in areas such as shopping precincts, through small hotels and halls to large sports stadia and international conference centres.
Over 3 million businesses have been invited to attend an Open Day since we began, around 3000 exhibitors have taken part across the country and over 90,000 seminar places have been booked by individuals by telephone, fax, post or our web site.
We were delighted to be awarded a Charter Mark twice for excellent customer service, have been recognised by the British Diversity Awards for our work in building bridges with multi cultural businesses and achieved Government Beacon Status for our commitment to closer working between government departments for the benefit of the public.
